I received a request through Icing Smiles to create a Birthday Memorial Cake for a young girl, from Norman, Oklahoma, who would have been celebrating her 16th birthday on 08/12/2017. She had been battling Alagille Syndrome and Moya Moya disease and earned her wings on 02/03/2017. You can read more about the family's story here: https://www.facebook.com/sara.sancak.9.
Icing Smiles is a nonprofit organization that provides custom celebration cakes and other treats to families impacted by the critical illness of a child. Simple things, like a birthday cake, are luxuries to a family battling illness. It is Icing Smiles' goal to create a custom cake for an ill child, or their sibling, providing a temporary escape from worry, which creates a positive memory during a difficult time. I have had the privilege of working with Icing Smiles for the past few years. It's such a blessing to see the children's faces light up when they see the special cake created just for them.
We would be grateful if you would consider providing a cake to help this family remember their daughter in such a sweet way.
Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Icing Smiles. Thank you for Baking a Difference with me!
