I made this cake for my mom's surprise 62nd birthday party. As a bread winner of the family, my mom worked overseas and sacrifice being away from us to be able to provide for our needs. On top of that, she never fails to help others and give back to the community in ways she can. I have witnessed this kindness growing up which inspires me to make it a goal to help and share my blessings.As I work my way up to being a professional Pastry Chef, my goal is to make people feel happy every time they will eat my dish. Recently I was able to receive my first call, to make a graduation cake for a child who lives with Chromosomes 17 Deletion. As I showed him his cake, he jumped for joy and excitement that melts my heart. Reminds me of how a cake will always make me happy on my birthdays and hearing him say 'this is awesome! thank you!" fulfilled my goal.
